receiving a $10,000 fund from the Carlson School of Management, they bailed out 33 people from pre-trial detention in the first year.
GROWTH
By 2018, the organization grew and secured pre-trial release for over 113 people across the Twin Cities.
MOVEMENT
By March 2020, the fund had supported bail for 500 cases, including some involving ICE detention. Following the George Floyd uprising, the fund recieved $40 million in donations.

In 2025, the Minnesota Freedom Fund realized that in order to address the
root of pre-trial bail inequality, they had to address the root issue the policies holding the system in place.
