Following Minnesota Freedom Fund’s statement yesterday, calling for accountability in the killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent in South Minneapolis, MFF Executive Director Elizer Darris spoke at a community event last night furthering the call to local officials to “stand up” and “do something” against “federal tyranny.”

Minnesota Freedom Fund is devastated and outraged by the killing of Renee Nicole Good during an ICE enforcement encounter. Renee was a community member and mother who should still be alive today, and we are demanding that those involved in her death be held accountable, along with the systems that allowed this killing to happen.

As of June 1, 2025, Minnesota Freedom Fund will temporarily halt pretrial bail and bond payments to focus on systemic, long-term change in criminal legal and immigration detention systems. The organization aims to challenge these systems through advocacy and education, ultimately seeking to eliminate pretrial detention. Feedback from supporters is welcomed.
